Stuhr Museum is proud to announce the opening of the “Painting the Legacy of Nebraska” exhibit, which is now on display in the Stuhr Building.

“Painting the Legacy of Nebraska” is a journey that took internationally known artist Todd Williams to each county in Nebraska in search of artistic inspiration. Over the past 5 years, Williams turned the people, stories and natural beauty of Nebraska into a series of over 120 paintings, at least one for each of the state’s 93 counties. The result is “Painting the Legacy of Nebraska,” which was named the official exhibit of the Nebraska Sesquicentennial (150th) commission.

Stuhr is the only museum in the western part of the state to showcase the entire exhibit, which will run through Aug. 21st. Williams, himself, will be giving a demonstration on Sunday, July 30th as part of Stuhr’s 50th Anniversary Celebration.

“Painting the Legacy of Nebraska” features a wide variety of subjects, from beautiful landscapes to memorable moments in Nebraska history to historical figures to scenes and landmarks. It’s a show any Nebraskan will relate to, identify with and be inspired by.
