My fiancé and I decided to do the passport program to help us cope with all the wedding prep! So far it’s working well.
We were shocked this last weekend, when we discovered the home of the late Father Flanagan. It was, without a doubt, one of our favorite stops so far. Father Flanagan was an amazing man and mentor to hundreds of at-risk boys, and my fiancé and I were both shocked that we had never heard of him.
The good that he did in our state was unmeasurable, and the number of lives he touched uncountable.
Sometimes it’s depressing to think about the time we live in. The news feeds on shocking stories, about death and rape and bigotry. Father Flanagan was a much needed reminder that there are good people in the world too, people who are fighting for people other than themselves. Thank you, Father, for the example you set for all of us.
