Paranormal Experiences
Trails and Rails Museum, Kearney, April 17 Unforgettable fun for all ages, the Midwest Paranormal Investigators will teach ghost-hunting classes at the Trails and Rails Museum in Kearney. After the two-hour course, class participants will join experienced ghost hunters to explore the museum and its historic on-site buildings. Ghost-hunting classes will be held every month with additional classes in October.
Omaha Symphony: Cartoon Classics
Holland Performing Arts Center, Omaha, April 22 Kids of all ages are invited to celebrate animation when the Omaha Symphony plays blockbuster music from cartoon classics including Disney movies and Looney Tunes. The orchestra will be joined by local swing choirs and dancers for an unforgettable family event.
Bargain Buyway: The Ultimate Road Trip
Northeast Nebraska, April 27–29 Twenty-two towns along a 250-mile loop in northeastern Nebraska entice travelers with a weekend of treasure hunting and sightseeing. Vendors and businesses in each town will have a variety of wares for sale, including antiques, farm equipment, books, food items, crafts and more. 140th Annual Arbor Day Celebration
Nebraska City, April 27–29 When Arbor Day founder J. Sterling Morton and his wife settled in Nebraska City in 1854, they found themselves in a nearly treeless land. Morton envisioned setting aside a specific day to plant trees, and in 1872, that dream was realized when the first Arbor Day was celebrated. More than 1 million trees were planted in Nebraska that first year. Now Arbor Day is a national holiday celebrated in all 50 states. Nebraska City hosts the 140th Annual Arbor Day Celebration with a parade, 5K and 10K walk/run, educational activities and free trees. Visitors can also check out J. Sterling Morton’s 52-room mansion at the Arbor Lodge State Historical Park and Arboretum.
