View the night sky through three different telescopes and learn through astronomy presentations. Hyde Memorial Observatory is open Saturday evenings. April - September 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm and October - March 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm. (The observatory may be closed if a Saturday falls on or near a major holiday.) This observatory was built and continues to be sustained entirely by donations and is operated entirely by volunteers.Open to the public. Free, donations accepted.
Hyde Memorial Observatory is in the southwest section of Holmes Park. From S. 70th Street, on the south side of Holmes Lake, follow South Shore Road past the golf course. The observatory will be on your left.
