Step back into time with the display of area history captured by the pioneer photographer, Solomon D. Butcher and stroll through the general store and several other exhibits. Be sure to peek inside the research center and genealogy library!

High Plains Homestead is a wonderful step back into the 1880s for your family or group. The Mercantile shop is filled with necessities and local consignment goods. For info on lodging or group rentals, go to the website or ask during your visit.

Located on the Oregon Trail, this stop features an impressive collection of pioneer and early community artifacts, antique tractors and farm implements, an 80-acre working farm, historic farmstead structures and striking views of Scotts Bluff National Monument.

The museum is housed in one of the last GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) Memorial Halls in the state. The exhibits and artifacts on display tell the story of the Civil War from its origins to its legacy, as well as the stories of freed and enslaved African Americans, civilians on the home front and the Nebraska regiments that went off to fight.

The Neligh Mill is a 150-year-old flour mill with all the original milling equipment. Video, displays and guided tours are available.

Ashfall Fossil Beds is an active fossil site where excavations takes place every summer. Complete fossil skeletons are revealed and left in place for public viewing. The fossil bed is protected by the Hubbard Rhino Barn.

Often called the "Nebraska Ozarks", Indian Cave State Park boasts more than 3,000 acres of gorgeous hardwood forest, a front-row view of the Missouri River and some of Nebraska's finest camping and hiking opportunities. Founded in 1962, Indian Cave State Park is named for a large sandstone cavity that bears prehistoric Native American drawings.
