LINCOLN, Neb. - (May 14, 2026) - Visit Nebraska today announced grant awards totaling $325,000 in state aid funding. Due to the recent passing of LB1071 in the Nebraska Legislature, Visit Nebraska previously opened an expedited off cycle grant program in April of 2026 related to the following state aid appropriations: 1) $175,000 cash funds for a marketing grant related to international volleyball events at a city of the metropolitan class, and 2) $150,000 cash funds which shall only be used for a tourism and visitor promotion grant to an organization that provides tourism and visitor promotion services in the state through exhibits and trails and that is located along the Missouri River and within five miles of a city of the first class. Visit Nebraska received a total of 4 applications this grant cycle requesting $352,985 in funding. The 2 awardees this cycle include:

  • $175,000 to the Omaha Sports Commission for 2027 FIVB International Volleyball event
  • $150,000 to the Missouri River Basin Lewis and Clark Interpretive Visitor Center near Nebraska City
