The historic 1885 Red Cloud Opera House is where Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Willa Cather attended performances as a young girl and gave her high school graduation speech in 1890. The Red Cloud Opera House has been fully restored since 2003 and features an active roster of events throughout the year as well as artist exhibits in the Red Cloud Opera House Gallery. From live music and theatrical performances to book signings and art exhibitions, the Red Cloud Opera House serves as an arts and cultural hub for south-central Nebraska. The theater and gallery spaces are also available for corporate meetings and private events and local catering can be arranged.
