Day trip fun

Ash fall fossil beds has been on our must visit list for a while, after seeing it was on passport, we knew it was finally time to visit! Before leaving, we picked some tomatoes and cucumbers fresh from our garden and prepared a road trip snack! Along the way from Omaha, we mapped out as many stops as possible. We knew we didn’t have time to go into every place, but we made sure we pulled in each parking lot along the way and learned about its history. The two stops we made sure to get out for were 4th St. Sweets and Ash Fall fossil beds. Upon arriving to 4th street sweets, we were greeted by the friendliest gentleman, who told us they had moved back recently from Colorado! We shared some stories about where they lived, as we had a connection and it was truly a highlight of our day! We then made the rest of the trek to Ash Fall fossil beds, where the gentlemen working were happy to answer all of our questions and help us get to know the fossils! It was the best mom/daughter day we have had since last summers passport trips, and a staple of our summer!
