Plattesmouth Getaway

My husband and I decided that having a few travel adventures through our beloved state of Nebraska would be a fine thing to do in the dead of winter, so we loaded up our car with Nebraska winter travel essentials - shovel, tow rope, blankets, Runza coupons, and off we went. Seriously, though, you need to expect the unexpected in Nebraska. Our passport adventures came in two separate trips. One very short, and the other longer, hitting the eastern part of the state. Unfortunately, time didn't allow for hitting the western stops, because 'out west' is my favorite place on the planet. Summer camping will give us time for that. Our first trip was just one stop; Main St. Jewelers, in Plattsmouth. We had been there before and always enjoyed perusing all the fun gift items, and the nice ways they are displayed. They have gift ideas you don't see everywhere. It's fun to have the furry-legged 'greeters' meet you at the door. We also managed to visit some of the other shops, and the hardware store in town that we like. Down the street was a small craft fair we visited, then ended up at River House Soda Fountain and Cafe for a yummy Hot Chocolate. Seemed like a scene from Hallmark. We very much enjoyed our mini-trip.
