Harrop Sandhills Park

Catch a glimpse of the natural beauty of the Sandhills at Harrop Sandhills Park, located 18 miles south of Taylor. It is complete with a covered picnic shelter, camping site, a hand-pump water well and a 1/3-mile walking trail. Make sure to check out the historical marker near the trail that tells the story of the original Harrop.

Calamus State Recreation Area

Enjoy this 5,000-acre lake in the beautiful Sandhills just 6 miles northwest of Burwell. Stay for a while and camp out on the sand beaches or just spend a day fishing, boating, swimming or having a picnic. Visit one of the five fish hatcheries in Nebraska during your visit as well!
