This hospital was built in 1913 as a facility for Dr. Susan LaFlesche Picotte, the first American Indian woman to practice medicine in the United States. This hospital served patients until the 1940s but is now a museum with exhibits on the history of church missions, Omaha and Winnebago tribes and Dr. Susan Picotte.
