Alliance Creative District
Alliance Creative District

Begin your journey in Alliance, home of Carhenge, a world-famous roadside attraction made from vintage gray cars arranged like Stonehenge. The cars recently got a colorful refresh by muralists from across the country, adding even more creative energy to this quirky site.

Downtown Alliance invites visitors to linger with its cozy coffee shops, the locally loved Butte Bakery, a community-run co-op bakery and the Carnegie Arts Center, which features rotating exhibits and working artist studios. History buffs can dive into the region’s past at the Knight Museum & Sandhills Center or explore pioneer life at Dobby’s Frontier Town, where hands-on displays bring history to life. Wrap up your day with live music and a pint of craft beer at Brewery 719.

Oshkosh Creative District 77

Along the Western Trails Scenic & Historic Byway, Oshkosh surprises visitors with over 100 murals, sculptures, mosaics and barn quilts. Many are part of the National Barn Quilt Trail.

Nestled between the Sandhills and the North Platte River, this rural arts town is also home to Nebraska’s only water tower on the National Register of Historic Places. While you're there, grab a drink at Mark Ferrari’s Coffee and soak in the peaceful, creative energy that defines this town.
